Packages swiped from Dayton porch, surveillance captures incident

DAYTON — A trio of juvenile girls is suspected of stealing four packages from the porch of a home on West Hudson Avenue Wednesday, according to a Dayton police report.

Officers responded to the home in the first block of West Hudson, after a woman told police her Nest security cameras alerted her and recorded the packages being stolen around 1:40 p.m.

The thieves were described as being between 10 and 16 years old, according to the report.

The woman said the packages contained a purse, curtains, jeans, boots and dog food. The value of the items taken was said to be worth nearly $150, the report read.

The woman told police she believes she knows who took the packages and said in her 11 years living at the house, she’s never had a package stolen.

The woman was working to get police screenshots of the thieves.
