Organizers prepare for Poultry Days with anticipated record crowd

VERSAILLES, Ohio — With the Strawberry Festival attracting very large crowds this past weekend, organizers of next weekend’s Poultry Days in Versailles are preparing for a record attendance this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The theme for this year’s event is Just One More.

On Sunday afternoon, June 5, a tradition continued with the painting of 150 large chickens on the streets of Versailles.

Organizers said they are prepared to serve a record of more than 35,000 barbecued chicken dinners over the three-day weekend.

Team USA will compete against Team CANADA on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the festival as they prepare for the 2022 Ultimate Frisbee World Games.

Poultry Days was founded in 1952. Versailles was once known as the poultry capital of the world.
