Springfield woman killed in Dayton crash that also leaves 1 injured

One person is dead and another is in serious condition after a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning on North James H. McGee Boulevard in Dayton.

Sydney Wise, 23, of Springfield, was killed in the crash, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Wise was one of two people in a car who were ejected in the crash.

The crash was reported around 2:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of North James H. McGee Boulevard, east of North Gettysburg Avenue.

The crash caused the vehicle to roll and ejected both occupants from the car, according to police. Wise was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is listed in serious condition, according to investigators.

James H. McGee Boulevard was shut down for the investigation between North Gettysburg Avenue and Walton Avenue, but reopened around 7:30 a.m.

Potential factors in the crash were not released by investigators.
