Old Carnegie Library in Xenia finds new owner; restaurant, events center coming soon

XENIA — The old Xenia Carnegie Library will soon take on a new identity.

Bridget Walker, the owner of Sweets Boutique, has purchased the old building on East Church Street from the city and plans to turn it into a restaurant and event center.

Walker said she plans to call the new business O’Neil’s, which here grandmother gave her as her middle name. She plans to serve brunch and lunch daily and host some dinners with reservations.

The space will also be used for events, such as weddings and she’ll be able to provide catering.

“it’s just a dream I’ve had for a long time. I look at this building and I see so much more than what it is – a vacant building. I see the beauty in the building and it’s a dream come true,” Walker said.

Walker said the next six to eight months will be filled with inspections and it will take an additional year or more to complete the renovation.
