2 men found with ‘multiple gunshot wounds’ in Moraine

MORAINE — Two people were injured in a shooting in Moraine on Sunday night.

Moraine police and medics were dispatched shortly before 11 p.m. to the 2400 block of Orange Avenue on initial reports of a shooting.

“It is loud,” one 911 callers told dispatchers. “You can tell it’s two different guns going off, like they’re shooting at each other.”

The 911 caller said it sounded like shotguns and pistols before telling dispatchers that two people appeared to have been shot.

“I’ve got two people that are shot, laying in the road,” the caller said.

When officers got to the scene, they found two men who had been shot multiple times in the street.

Both men were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Neighbors and police believe at least one of the men suffered life-threatening injuries. Neighbors also reported that a second man was talking to them before ambulances arrived.

No other injuries were reported.

Thomas Haugh and his parents woke up to the gunfire Sunday night and later learned their house had been hit.

“We didn’t even hear our house get hit,” he said. “We just heard the ‘Bang, bang, bang.’”

As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00, our crew also spotted another vehicle with two bullet holes in it, plus two trees with large bullet gouges in them.

Moraine Police said their detectives had a lot of potential leads to check. They believe a road rage incident, or a robbery or drug deal, could have led to the shooting.

“I think our investigators are looking into a possibility of at least one vehicle that was seen leaving the area,” Parish told News Center 7.
