Newly arrived Ukrainians welcomed in City of Dayton

DAYTON — The City of Dayton helped welcome newly arrived Ukrainians to the area.

The “Ukrainian Welcome Event” took place Saturday afternoon at the Dayton Metro Library on East Third Street.

“This is an opportunity for newly arrived Ukrainians to meet each other and connect with Ukrainians who have lived here in Dayton for a long time,” said Jeanette Horwitz, Welcome Dayton Coordinator. “It’s also an opportunity for them to connect with resources available in the city.”

This includes English as a second language class, vehicle information and health care, according to Horwitz.

Horwitz says they hope to do a couple of events next year.
