FAIRBORN — This morning Battalion Chief Brad Eckert will be sworn in as the new Assistant Chief of the Fairborn Fire Department.
According to a release, the ceremony will start at 9:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers on West Hebble Avenue.

Eckert has served as a Battalion Chief with the Fairborn Fire Department prior to his promotion.
He has over 31 years in the fire service, with 23 of those years with Fairborn.
In high school, Eckert joined the fire explorer program and was a member from 1986 until 1990.
