Motorcycle driver taken to hospital by CareFlight after crash in Darke County

DARKE COUNTY — One person was taken to the hospital by Careflight after a motorcycle crash in Darke County Saturday evening.

According to a release from the Darke County Sheriff’s office, deputies along with Ansonia Rescue, Ansonia Fire, and Careflight were called dispatched to the 3800 block of State Route 47 in reference to a motorcycle accident with injury.

Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2018 Harley Davidson Ultra driven by a 34-year-old man was driving westbound on State Route 47 near Detling Road. when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveling off the right side of the roadway and coming to rest in a ditch, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office says the man was was ejected from the motorcycle.

Ansonia Rescue treated the man at the scene and he was transported to Miami Valley by Careflight.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the sheriff’s office said.

The accident is still under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
