— Equipment failure at a substation Friday night caused more than 3,600 Dayton Power & Light customers in the Miamisburg and West Carrollton areas to lose power.
The large outage was reported around 9:15 p.m., and power was restored to most by 11 p.m. and the rest were expected to have power back around midnight, Kelly Millhouse, DP&L director of operations said.
Hundreds of other power outages were weather-related, she said, primarily due to tree branches and trees falling on power lines.
Estimated restoration times range between midnight and 6 a.m. for various communities, depending on how extensive work is to remove the trees from the lines and restore service.
