Miamisburg schools mandate masks for students, staff

MIAMISBURG — Miamisburg City Schools have announced they’ll be requiring masks for students and staff starting today.

The announcement comes after several COVID-19 positive cases have spiked, according to a post on the school’s website.

“Effective Monday, September 13, 2021, all Pre-K12 staff, students, volunteers, and visitors will be required to wear face masks when they are in a building or riding on district transportation,” their website read.

Within the last few weeks, there have been over 300 students in quarantine.

With the goal to keep students in school, they say, “we believe that requiring masks will reduce quarantines and enable more students to stay in school.”

Students and staff outside of the school building are not required to wear masks.
