MIAMISBURG — Police are still looking for two suspects after a Miamisburg teen was shot and killed Sunday night inside his apartment.
Police say it was a targeted home invasion gone wrong that killed 18-year-old Noah Kinser, a Miamisburg High School senior and injured a juvenile.
Because it was not a random act, police said neighbors should not be concerned. However, the shooting left many rattled at the apartment building at 119 N. First St.
News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy spoke to one resident, who shared just how close he came to harm’s way.
“I heard, like, tapping and it sounded to me that it was the popping of the gun,” said neighbor Brian Wade.
He was halfway asleep when he started hearing a commotion in the apartment above his Sunday night on North First Street.
Then came the bullets. Wade’s roommate was under the stairs leading upstairs at the time.
“When everything started flying he run for the kitchen and hid in there,” Wade said.
Then he checked to make sure Wade was OK.
“I jumped up and I was like, “I wouldn’t get by that wall, you know, it might start again,’” Wade said.
His apartment has bullet holes, wood splinters on furniture, and picture frames damaged.
“There’s holes there,” Wade said. “They must have been shooting ... I don’t know, down the steps.”
Another neighbor, Charles Wilson, said people are still shaken.
“It’s just, a little too close for comfort, you know? It’s a little scary,” he said.
Miamisburg school officials said counselors will be available for students when they return Jan. 7.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact Miamisburg police Sgt. Jeff Muncy at 927-847-6612.
