5 hurt in serious Dayton crash; woman arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies

DAYTON — Five people were taken to area hospitals after a crash Monday night that has a woman in jail on suspicion of multiple felony charges related to the crash.

Officers responded to the crash at Philadelphia Drive and Forest Grove Avenue around 11:00 p.m.

A woman driving down the road hit two vehicles in the crash, which ended with an SUV on its top, police said.

Four people in one of the vehicles involved in the crash were hurt and one person in the other vehicle that was hit was hurt, investigators told News Center 7.

Police identified the female driver who was arrested after the crash as Ahjanay Wallace, 32. Wallace was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of aggravated vehicular assault, improperly handling a gun in a car, OVI and two other weapons charges, according to online records.

Dayton officers said some of the injuries to the five people hurt were serious. The names of the crash victims were not immediately available.

The Dayton Police Traffic Services Unit is investigating the crash.
