Driver remains in critical condition after deadly 2-car Shelby County crash

SALEM TWP., Shelby County — The driver of a car involved in a deadly crash on Friday remained in critical condition Sunday at Miami Valley Hospital.

Caleb Boberg, 19, was flown to the hospital after the crash around 12:20 p.m. south of Maplewood in Shelby County.

Boberg was driving a red 2010 Pontiac G6 west on Lefevre Road when he did not stop for a posted stop sign, according to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Boberg’s car struck a blue Suzuki Aerio SX driven by Timothy Robinson of Quincy, who was traveling south on Tawawa Maplewood Road.

Robinson was thrown from his car and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Shelby County Coroner’s Office, Maplewood Fire Department, Port Jefferson Rescue and CareFlight all responded to the scene.
