CLARK COUNTY — The manhunt for the man accused of stabbing his wife in the neck before fleeing the area has continued into a second day.
Raymond Roberts is accused of stabbing his wife at their home in Clark County on Thursday morning. She drove to a convenience store on Springfield Xenia Road for help.
A 911 caller reported the victim driving herself to Mayberry’s Mini Mart to ask for help.
“We need ambulance and police crews here at the Mayberry station on 68,” the 911 caller “Some lady just pulled up here she looks like she’s had her throat sliced open.”
The caller then told dispatchers a white Dodge Challenger drove at the victim’s vehicle and struck her vehicle before nearly hitting the caller.
“It just sped off,” the caller said referring to the white vehicle.
The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.
Deputies said Roberts was driving the Challenger before he abandoned it near the Enon Eagles on Lower Valley Pike.
Deputies said Roberts then took the Ford Focus from his parents house on Lower Valley Pike after he told them “he was in trouble and had to leave,” records show.
The stabbing happened at a home in the 4300 block of Qu Wood Road.
Records show deputies found a “large amount of blood on the (garage) floor and a large knife on the floor as well” at the residence. Five empty pill bottles were recovered from a workbench in the garage as well.
“The incident appeared to take place mostly in the detached garage of the house,” according to court records.
According to an affidavit filed in Clark County, hospital officials told deputies “her condition was not good and she would most likely be in the hospital for several weeks.”
The victim’s sister said, “(the victim) put her life on hold to raise her daughter and give her the best life possible.” She said the victim was working as a bus driver.
“(She) devoted her life to her family,” the sister said.
