Man identified in knifepoint car theft, multi-city police chase

A man is in custody after leading police on a pursuit through several cities Monday evening.

Anthony Aaron Jadwin Jr., 30, was booked on aggravated robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, according to  the Miami Valley Jail booking site.

Charges have not yet formally been filed against him.

Jadwin took the car from a woman by knifepoint at the Sam’s Club gas station in Butler Twp., Sgt. Rick Oakley said. The woman wasn’t injured.

County crews picked the chase up on Interstate 75 south near Edwin C. Moses Boulevard then went through the Miamisburg area, back toward state Route 4 and ending in Dayton, Oakley said.

Jadwin was taken into custody around 7 p.m. in the 3000 block of E. Fifth St., according to a Dayton police report.

One cruiser has minor damage from the chase after the officer did a PIT maneuver stop.

The aggravated robbery is currently under investigation by Butler Twp. police.
