Longtime Butler County elected official indicted on multiple corruption related charges

BUTLER COUNTY — A longtime township trustee in Butler County in facing multiple corruption related charges.

Wednesday a grand jury indicted Alan Daniel, 76, on seven counts including charges for having unlawful interest in public contract and using or authorizing the use of his authority of his office to secure anything of value.

Daniel recently resigned as a voting member of the Butler County Board of Zoning and Appeals and has been an elected Madison Township trustee for the past 29 years. He is currently listed as the vice president.

The charges stem from several incidents that date as far back as December 2016 and as recently as December 2021, according to our news partners at WCPO.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Ethics Commission have been working on an investigation for over a year, which led to the indictment, according to a release.

Daniel’s next day in court is scheduled for Sept. 19 where he will enter his plea.
