Logan County Sheriff’s Office issues warning about recent phone scam

LOGAN COUNTY — The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning about a recent phone scam that has been reported in the community.

According to the sheriff’s office, callers have reported being contacted by the sheriff’s office by someone claiming to be a detective, and being told they have a warrant.

They are then asked to go to a local store to purchase gift cards to avoid being arrested.

“Please note, if you have a warrant our office does not call you. Refrain from giving them any information,” the sheriff’s office said.
