DAYTON — A new, locally based delivery service has rolled into the Miami Valley.
937 Delivers serves a similar purpose to DoorDash, UberEats, GrubHub, and other national food delivery services. However, 937 Delivers operates with a different business model.
Instead of taking a portion of the cost of customers’ orders, 937 Delivers is a co-op. Its member restaurants pay a $300 monthly fee. Customers pay a $6 delivery fee.

“Basically what that means is all of the money you spend on 937 Delivers stays in the community,” said Brian Johnson, who is in charge of 937 Delivers’ marketing and development.
Any profits the business takes in will either be redistributed to the members or used for future 937 Delivers development.
Right now, 10 restaurants are involved, but the company is looking to expand.
“I’m pretty sure we’ve talked to every downtown Dayton restaurant plus another 50 from around the Miami Valley,” Johnson said.
The company launched on Friday and since then has done 300 deliveries.
It will deliver within a five mile radius from each restaurant.
