The Gilman Way sign will be installed at the intersections of E. Main Street and Popular Street, E. Main Street and Burns Avenue.
The sign’s location was chosen based on where Gilman used to live and will be used to remember her legacy since her passing in 2018.
Family members, friends, and former city council members also attended this meeting to celebrate Gilman’s achievements.
Gilman held leadership positions with the Ohio Mayors Association, Ohio Municipal League and Montgomery and Greene County Mayors and Managers Association.
While Mayor, she advocated for improvements to I-75 Exit 47 and helped establish the YMCA in West Carrollton.
Gilman’s contributions were honored when she was inducted into West Carrollton’s School District’s Distinguished Service Hall of Fame in 1999 and the City Plaza of Fame in 2008.
