It happened at the intersection of S. Smithville Road and Watervliet Avenue at around 8 p.m., Montgomery Regional Dispatch confirmed to News Center 7.

Video and images from the scene show the intersection was closed but has since reopened.

News Center 7′s Brandon Lewis reports an officer was doing a routine patrol and was turning on to S. Smithville Road when a cruiser struck the person.

Medics transported at least one person to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Several police officers responded, an Dayton Police lieutenant told News Center 7 on scene.

“Due to an officer being involved, we did have our traffic services unit, along with our professional standards bureau respond, so that we can make sure the investigation was done completely,” said Lieutenant Jeffrey Thomas.

Lewis says we are working to find out if the officer will face any repercussions.

We are working to learn more information.
