Another retailer is shuttering one of its area stores, according to employees.
Kmart on Wagner Avenue in Greenville will close its doors for good this year.
Employees of the store received a message from Sears Holdings Corporation, Kmart's parent company, on Jan. 31, notifying them of the decision.
Officials with the company have not yet returned our request for comment regarding specifics of the decision.
One worker, who did not want to be identified, said over the phone he didn't know what would happen to the store's employees.
In January, Target announced it was closing two area stores.
