Kettering councilwoman host fundraiser benefitting Ukraine

Kettering City Councilwoman Jyl Hall and members of the local Ukrainian community hosted a fundraiser Wednesday night.

It raised money to help provide emergency food for Ukrainians impacted by war.

The fundraiser had Ukrainian food, music and art.

It also gave people in the area a chance to hear from people from Ukraine.

“I would tell them that we love them, that we will not stop what we’re doing. We will support them until the end. We are with them, America is with them, our community is with them. We are doing what we can and will continue to do so,” Anastasia Nagel said, who is from Ukraine and helped organize the event.

Organizers said they have raised about $11,000 so far.

All funds will go to the World Central Kitchen, which has provided more than 300,000 meals to Ukrainian refugees.
