Injury reported at International Truck & Engine Corp. in Springfield

UPDATE @ 5:00 a.m. (March 3):

A man who fell into a mineral water tank at International Truck & Engine Corp. Friday is in stable condition, according to Moorefield Township firefighter/paramedic Jason Curtis.

The 27-year-old man was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center with minor injuries but was transferred to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight after he experienced momentary memory loss, according to Curtis.

It is believed the man worked in the paint plan but it is unclear how the incident occurred, Curtis said.

INITIAL REPORT:

A Moorefield Twp. fire/medic crew was dispatched to International Truck & Engine Corp. for an apparent industrial accident.

The incident initially dispatched was for a person who had fallen off a vehicle. That dispatch changed minutes later to a man, believed to be in his 20s, who had fallen into a chemical tank.

His condition is not known. He is being taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight from Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Crews were dispatched to the plant, 6125 Urbana Road, about 11:40 p.m.
