According to the preliminary investigation, a Honda headed south on the highway clipped the back end of a Kia Sportage that had entered the highway from Greenville-Celina Road.

The collision sent the Kia across the northbound lanes of 127 where it flipped and came to rest on its top, Darke County Sheriff's deputies said.

The accident was dispatched about 6:51 p.m.

Deputies determined the driver of the Kia was at fault. That driver was the one taken to the hospital.

U.S. 127 was closed from Greenville-Celina Road to Children's Home-Bradford Road for the accident scene and investigation.

Southbound 127 remained open, deputies said.
