The Humane Society of Greater Dayton shared on social media that Brie, dubbed the beloved “highway cat,” has found her forever home.
“After everything she’s been through, Brie continues to shine in the most beautiful way. She is endlessly sweet, gentle, and full of love—proof that even the hardest journeys can’t dim a truly special spirit," the post read.

As previously reported, Dayton Police Sergeant Cairns was conducting a traffic stop on the interstate earlier this month when a woman flagged him down.
The driver told Cairns that there was a cat stuck on the highway and didn’t know what to do.
Cairns found the cat and noticed it had injuries on its back.
He put the cat in his cruiser and took it to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton for help.
Brie had serious external and internal injuries, but she was able to make a full recovery.
On Tuesday, the Humane Society announced that Brie was cleared for adoption by the Dayton Humane Veterinary team.
“Brie’s story is one we’ll never forget—and one that reminds us all just how powerful love and second chances can be," the post read.
