I-75 closes after 2-vehicle crash traps person

NORTHRIDGE — Law enforcement, fire, and medics from multiple departments responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 southbound near Needmore Road.’

Crews from Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Harrison Township Fire, and Dayton Ohio State Highway Patrol were called to the scene at approximately 2:50 a.m.

Officers at the scene reported injuries and a person trapped inside their vehicle due to the crash , Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed to News Center 7.

The Harrison Township Fire Department sent a rescue team to extricate the trapped person while medics were sent to tend to the injured, dispatch said.

It is still unknown how many were injured or the severity of their injuries.

Dayton Ohio State Highway Patrol closed Interstate 75 southbound from Needmore Road to Wagner Ford Road due to the incident, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.
