UPDATE: NB I-75 reopens in Dayton after crash involving police cruiser

DAYTON — All lanes of northbound I-75 in Dayton were shut down for around 45 minutes Tuesday morning after two crashes, including one involving a Dayton police cruiser.

Police were first called to the area of northbound I-75 near Stanley Avenue just before 5:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle that crashed into a wall on the highway, emergency scanner traffic indicates.

While units were responding to the crash, a Dayton officer reported his cruiser was hit in a separate crash on I-75 near the North Main Street exit.

It was not clear if any injuries were reported in either crash.

Police shut down the northbound lanes of I-75 to investigate the crash but reopened the highway around 6:15 a.m.

Additional details were not available.
