I-675 SB reopens in Greene County after crash involving overturned box truck; 2 taken to hospital

GREENE COUNTY — UPDATE @ 12:08 p.m.:

Interstate 675 between Indian Ripple Road and Wilmington Pike in Sugarcreek Twp. has reopened after a crash involving an overturned dump truck.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) confirmed that troopers were called to respond to reports of an overturned dump truck on I-675 near Indian Ripple Road Tuesday morning.

The crash happened when the dump truck had a tire blowout while heading south, OSHP Sgt. Tyler Ross. The driver lost control and overcorrected, hitting a 2016 Honda and a 2021 Volkswagen Jetta.

After hitting both vehicles, the dump truck overturned on the highway.

The driver of the dump truck and Volkswagen were transported to Miami Valley Hospital South with non-life-threatening injuries.

Several crews were working to clean up gravel that was in the roadway. Troopers confirmed the it came from the truck after it overturned.

Ohio Department of Transportation cameras show police and state troopers had blocked the highway at Indian Ripple Road and are routing all traffic onto the surface streets.

The crash remains under investigation.
