CINCINNATI — Police have identified human skeletal remains found in a Cincinnati neighborhood last week.

Police confirmed that the remains were identified as 31-year-old Mercedes Southard, our news partners at WCPO reported.

Southard was last seen earlier this year when she walked away from her residence and failed to return on Feb. 3.
The remains were found on July 29 in a wooded area in Cincinnati’s West Price Hill neighborhood, WCPO reported.
Additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding Southard’s death has not been released at this time.
