The City Council has approved sending a referendum on chickens to voters in November.
The motion was approved unanimously by council Monday night during a regular session.
Council amended the wording of the issue to require chicken pens or coops to be set 10 feet from property lines.
Additionally, only four hens would be allowed to be raised. No roosters would be permitted.
