How crews are making sure rides are safe for the 170th Montgomery Co. Fair

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Crews worked throughout the day Saturday to make sure the 170th Montgomery County Fair went off without a hitch Sunday.

This included making sure the fair rides we all know and love are safe.

“It ranges anywhere from little kiddy rides up to a little bit older,” Lori Page, Montgomery County Fairgrounds executive director said.

Page said parents and their kids should have fun on the rides, and not have to worry about if they are safe.

‘We want everybody to come and have fun and have confidence in our rides and feel like they are going to be safe while they’re on those rides and having a good time,” she said.

Page said the Ohio Division of Amusement Ride Safety will come in Sunday morning to inspect the rides before the fair kicks off.

The rides are also closed every day of the fair from 4-5 p.m. for ride inspection.

Outside of the daily inspections, the rides will operate throughout the day giving people plenty of time to have a good time.

“I think we’re friendly, we’re fun, it’s very big,” Page said about the fair.

An opening ceremony for the fair will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday and it will run through Saturday July 16.
