Heavy police presence reported outside of Dayton home

DAYTON — UPDATED STORY: 8:20 PM

A heavy police presence was reported in Dayton Friday night as they responded to a suicidal man inside of a home.

Crews initially responded to reports of an individual who might be posing a threat to himself and others, and they approached the situation as if he was armed with a weapon, according to Lt. Stephen Clark with the Dayton Police Department.

Police eventually made contact with the person inside of the home through phone and the door.

Police realized the situation was not a threat and started standing down their crews.

No criminal charges have been pressed on the person at this time.

Lt. Clark told News Center 7 that the information they received on the person driving erratically was anonymous and they did not witness the driving, so they were unable to comment any further.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

A heavy police presence was reported in Dayton Friday night as they responded to a suicidal man inside of a home.

Montgomery County Regional Dispatch said that the person involved was a male in a red hoody who was driving recklessly and ended up on Edison St. and Clemmer St.
