Heavy flames engulf, destroy barn in Perry Twp.

A barn near Brookville was leveled Thursday afternoon after flames destroyed the structure on Johnstown-Brookville Road.

Two goats died after a fire broke out and destroyed a barn behind a home on Johnsville Brookville Road in Perry Twp. Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the 3600 block of Johnsville Brookville Road, near Providence Pike, around 1:30 p.m.

Video and photos contributed from a neighbor show heavy smoke and flames engulfed the structure before firefighters arrived. 

Homeowners were able to get cows out of the barn and to safety but two goats did not make it out and died in the fire.

There were no initial reports of injuries and the cause of the blaze was not immediately released.
