MIAMI VALLEY — A little-known procedure could help save your life.
A cardiac computed tomography, also known as a CT scan, can help with doctors catch early-stage heart disease, according to Premier Health.
The non-invasive procedure uses X-rays to take pictures of your heart’s arteries to measure plaque buildup.
Early and advanced heart disease don’t always have symptoms. But a CT scan can help patients get a head start on their heart health.
CT scans are offered at hospitals all over the Miami Valley and at most locations can be scheduled over the phone or online.
News Center 7’s Gabrielle Enright takes a closer look at heart disease and how it often goes unnoticed until it’s too late. Tune in Thursday, Feb. 13, at 5:30 p.m. for more details.
