Greene County receives more than $46K to address traffic safety concerns

GREENE COUNTY — Greene County has received more than $46,000 in grants to address traffic safety concerns in the community.

Greene County Public Health’s Safe Communities program was awarded $46,200 in federal funding for the 2023 fiscal year.

The county said they will use the funds to increase awareness about seat belt restraint usage, impaired driving, distracted driving, and motorcyclists in the community.

“Partnerships are critical to the success of any safety effort, and we are committed to working with local partners to continue addressing traffic safety concerns in Greene County,” Loressa Gonyer, Safe Communities Coordinator said.

Funding was awarded by the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Ohio Traffic Safety Office.
