The Governor’s Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force announced the release of a resource guide for children services professionals to aid in the understanding of and the response to human trafficking.
The resource guide includes an overview of federal and state laws related to human trafficking of children, according to a news release from the Governor’s Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force.

“Through this resource guide, it’s our hope that these professionals will be equipped to both identify and serve potential victims of human trafficking.” said Maria Busch the Ohio Anti-Human Trafficking Coordinator.
Governor Mike DeWine signed Executive Order 2021-02D to expand the Governor’s Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force in January of this year.

The guide provides overview on Ohio’s anti-trafficking policy, advocacy landscape, and considerations for children services practice.
The development of the guide was supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime through the Improving Outcomes for Child and Youth Victims of Human Trafficking grant, according to the release.
