Governor Mike DeWine held a special briefing at 6:10 p.m. Friday evening to provide an update on the vaccinations of school personnel.
During the presser, Gov. DeWine warned Ohio school districts about the consequences of not returning to in-person or hybrid learning by March 1.
In order to receive the vaccines, schools were to switch back to in person learning, but DeWine called out several school districts for reportedly not intending to return to in person learning by the required date.
The schools he called out were located in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Akron.
DeWine pointed out that children are suffering from not only academic consequences, but social and mental health consequences as well.
“It’s time to get them back in school,” DeWine said.
