George Floyd protests: Columbus police declare an emergency in the city

COLUMBUS — The Columbus Police Department has declared an emergency for the downtown area as protests continue after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Police directed people to ‘avoid the area’ in an alert sent Saturday afternoon.
