BUTLER TWP. — A mother and daughter killed during a quadruple fatal shooting in Butler Twp. were laid to rest exactly one week after their deaths.

Funerals and burial services for Sarah, 41, and Kayla, 15, Anderson took place in Dayton today, just two days before what would have been Sarah’s 42nd birthday.

Their funeral was held at 10 a.m. at Christian Life Center. A motorcycle-riding funeral escort led an incredibly huge procession from the funeral to Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery where the two were buried.

News Center 7′s Mike Campbell was there and saw hundreds of family members and friends heading to the cemetery to pay their final respects.

Sarah and Kayla were two of four people shot and killed on Hardwicke Place Aug. 5.

While the investigation into the shooting continues, community members have chosen to keep their eyes on the victims. Balloon launches and community gatherings have happened in the week since Sarah, Kayla, and Clyde and Eva Knox were killed.

An online fundraiser has been created to pay for all funeral costs. Any additional money will go toward a “scholarship in Kayla’s name to help fund her sister’s education.”
