Miami Co. woodworking business destroyed by fire

MIAMI COUNTY — UPDATE @ 11:30 a.m.

Stull Woodworks, which has been in business since 1992, was six days away from moving to a new location in Troy.

The fire will not be the end of the business. The move to Troy will be its fourth expansion in the company’s history.

There is no cause or damage estimate yet. The building and equipment are destroyed, though.

Stull Woodworks employs a dozen people.

Officials said a fire that destroyed a Miami County woodworking business may have started in or near an outside pile of sawdust.

The fire at Stull Woodworks, 7925 Fenner Road, was under control as of 2:20 a.m., about three hours after fire crews responded.

The site was for sale, and the business was in the process of locating and moving to a larger facility.

Multiple fire departments brought in water to the scene.

No one was injured.

Our crew on the scene reports fire has severely damaged a Miami County woodworking business on Fenner Road.

Multiple fire departments from across Miami and Darke counties remain on scene extinguishing the flames.

There have been no reports of injuries.

Multiple fire departments from Miami and Darke counties have been dispatched to the fire at 7925 Fenner Road.

According to an online search, the business listed at that address is Stull Woodworks.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters in Miami County have been dispatched to a reported fully involved structure fire south of Pleasant Hill.

Crews were dispatched to the 7900 block of Fenner Road around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday and have reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the building.

Scanner traffic from the scene indicates the structure is a business and all occupants are reported out.
