House fire forces evacuation of Harrison Twp. home

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A house fire forced residents to evacuate Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple crews were called to the 400 block of Shiloh Drive after reports of a residential fire at around 12:45 p.m., a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch told News Center 7.

The fire reportedly started in the bedroom and expanded to the rest of the house, “fully engulf[ing]” the home, dispatch said.

Residents were able to evacuate before the entire home became involved, dispatch informed.

There were no reported injuries and medics were not called to the scene, dispatch said.

Fire crews from multiple departments were able to get the fire under control at 1:40 p.m.

AES Ohio and CenterPoint Energy were called to the scene to shut off the electricity and gas to prevent the fire from growing, dispatch said.

The American Red Cross also responded to provide for the evacuated residents due to the fire, dispatch stated.
