Fritz or Ferguson? Cincinnati Zoo to announce name of hippo calf Monday

CINCINNATI — The hippo team at the Cincinnati Zoo has narrowed down 90,000 possible names for its newest baby hippo.

Fiona’s little brother will either be named Fritz or Ferguson, the zoo said on social media.

“We received some really great name submissions from people representing every state in the U.S. and more than 60 countries around the world!” the zoo said on its website.

The zoo said it will announce the the hippo team’s final decision Monday, August 15.
