Food pantries struggling to fill shelves amid price increases, food shortages

DAYTON — Many people in our community rely on food pantries to help put food on the table — but now food pantries are in need as well.

Price increases and food shortages have been hitting local food pantries hard.

“With God’s grace has seen an uptake of families that is in need in our community, will see families that’s never had a hardship,” Nicole Adkins, executive director of With Gods Grace said.

With God’s Grace said they are especially seeing shortages of things like dairy and baby formula, which are some of the items in the highest demand.

On top of those issues, many have seen a shortage of workers and volunteers.
