FAIRBORN — Several firefighters responded to an apartment fire in Fairborn on Saturday.

The fire was reported just before 5:55 p.m. at the 300 block of Lovington Drive, according to Fairborn dispatchers.

Photos show several firefighters and Fairborn Police at the scene. The scene is blocked off with yellow caution tape.
Fairborn Fire Chief Ryan Williams told our news crew that firefighters put out the flames in less than 30 minutes.
“Crews were able to make a quick stop on the fire, and limit the spread to one apartment,” he said. “So, ultimately, three additional apartments were saved.”
Our news crew also saw a man in the back of a police cruiser.
Fairborn Police have not formally identified any suspect.
Online jail records indicate that 42-year-old Jeremy Whitt was arrested by Fairborn Police on Lovington Drive at 5:54 p.m. on July 24.
Officers booked him on aggravated arson and obstructing official business. Charges against Whitt have not been filed at the time of this report.
The fire remains under investigation.
