Firefighters respond after barn fire rekindles in Preble Co.

PREBLE COUNTY, Ohio — Several firefighters responded after a barn fire rekindled in Preble County on Saturday.

Firefighters were dispatched around 8:37 p.m. to the 5900 block of Orangeburg Road near New Paris, according to Preble County dispatchers.

At least 10 different departments from Preble and Darke counties in Ohio, including Wayne County, Indiana, as previously reported.

The New Paris Fire Chief previously told News Center 7 that the barn was filled with hay. Firefighters spread the hay to help put out the fire.

Firefighters put out hotspots until early Saturday.

The smoke was very thick, and no livestock was injured.

News Center 7 is working to learn what caused the fire.
