Firefighters battle cornfield fire near Spring Valley

Crews from multiple fire departments responded to battle a brush fire near Spring Valley in Greene County Monday afternoon.

The fire was first reported near the Spring Valley Fire Department on U.S. 42 just before 3 p.m., according to emergency scanner traffic.

Initial reports indicate a cornfield, estimated around an acre, was on fire when crews first arrived on scene.

No injuries were reported.
