UPDATE: Fire crews quickly put out fire at Austin Landing’s Firebirds Wood Fired Grill restaurant

MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — UPDATE @ 9: 09 p.m.:

Miami Township fire crews quickly put out a fire at the Firebirds Wood Fired Grill earlier this afternoon.

The extent and estimate of the damage done by the fire are not known at this time.

Dispatch reports confirm that there were no injuries to anyone.

Our crew on the scene did report seeing a temporarily closed sign on the front door of the Austin Landing restaurant. It is not known at this time how long they will be closed.

INITIAL REPORT

A fire has been reported at the Firebirds Wood Fired Grill on Rigby Road this afternoon.

Initial crews on the scene reported smoke showing when they got to the restaurant shortly before 5 p.m., according to emergency dispatch traffic.

Firefighters reported there was a possible fire in the vent system of the restaurant.

It’s not clear how the fire may impact the restaurant this evening.
