Several dogs killed after fire breaks out in Huber Heights home

HUBER HEIGHTS — Multiple crews responded to a garage fire Monday afternoon in Huber Heights.

Huber Heights and Butler Township Fire crews were called to the 5200 block of Tilbury Road at around 2:05 a.m. after receiving reports of a structure fire, Huber Heights City Dispatch confirmed to News Center 7.

When crews arrived on scene, they saw “heavy smoke” emanating from the garage and upgraded the status to a working fire, dispatch said.

All occupants were safely evacuated from the house; however, medics were still called to the scene, dispatch informed.

According to a social media post from the Huber Heights Fire Division, several dogs were killed in the fire.

News Center 7 captured footage of the damage that the fire did to the internal structure of the garage and the property stored inside.

The cause of the fire was unknown at the time of questioning.
