Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith and his team of inspectors were the first in Ohio to examine the specific pump technology used by the chain.

After verifying the accuracy of the 102 gas pumps, the team applied certified stickers to each one.

Keith said the facility utilizes modern monitoring systems to ensure the equipment functions correctly.

“Pretty high-tech things they do to monitor the pumps, overabundance of water in the pumps, those types of things,” Keith said. “It’s high-tech technology, state-of-the-art place, and I think people will be impressed.”

The inspection also included the deli scales located inside the store.

Keith noted the reputation of the food service contributed to the importance of the checks.

“I have never been to one, but I heard those stories about the brisket and how popular it is,” Keith said. “So we knew it was important to get those scales tested and checked out.”

On the roadways, the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio State Highway Patrol will monitor traffic flow during and after the opening.

Drivers have already begun adjusting to new lane configurations and traffic lights near the site.

Charles Clay, a resident of Clark County, expressed both optimism and caution regarding the opening.

“I think it’s a good thing for the area. But it’s gonna be a lot of traffic,” Clay said.

Clay noted that he plans to avoid the immediate area on Monday morning.

He encouraged others to remain calm during the opening events.

“Have patience in your vehicle and in the store. Because everyone is going to be there wanting to do everything,” Clay said.

First responders from Montgomery and Clark counties will have access to the building for a preview on Sunday.

The facility opens to the general public at 6 a.m. Monday.
