F-16 fighter jet pilots to conduct nighttime training

Wright-Patterson AFB — You may be hearing some F-16 fighter jets flying overhead during the evening hours through this Thursday.

The 180th Fighter Wing with Ohio’s Air National Guard will be doing nighttime training flights beginning today, Monday through Thursday, Sept. 16, weather permitting.

Residents who live in the area surrounding Wright-Patterson Air Force Base may see and hear the F-16 fighter jets through 11:30 p.m. taking off and landing.

F-16 pilots, along with maintenance personnel are required to perform nighttime operations as part of their readiness training.
